Khao Lak Dive Shops
There are dozens of dive shops, schools and tour operators in Khao Lak - seems like too many to me - but many of them are just booking agents for other operators. Here's a small list of a few that we've heard good things about.
- Wicked Diving
- Wicked seems to be one of the classiest dive shops around. I've heard glowing reports from some of their customers, and was very impressed with my interview with them in early 2010. They have their own live-aboard boat as well as day-trip options.
- Liquid Adventure
- It's hard to miss Liquid's sleek black speedboat, gliding in among the mundane live-aboards around the Similans. If a live-aboard isn't your thing, and you'd rather do day trips, then Liquid Adventure is the place you want to use. The boat takes just over an hour to get to the Similans. Liquid now also has their own live-aboard boat as well, making mostly three-day trips out of Khao Lak.
- Big Blue Diving
- Big Blue, which also has branches on Koh Tao, is the other long-established dive shop in Khao Lak. They have speed boats for day-trips as well as a live-aboard.
