Tanjung Besi is off the northern tip of Perhentian Besar, and is essentially a continuation of the sharply pointed cape down into the sea. As such the site consists of rocks and large boulders, with a few caves and overhangs that help make this one of the more visually interesting dive sites around the Perhentians. The granite boulders are covered with colorful soft corals and fans.
Marine life includes clownfish among the many anemones, moray eels, sea stars, snappers, barracuda, wrasses and giant groupers. If you're patient and look closely around the overhangs and caves, you'll find a good variety of macro life.
