Sabayor Kecil is a small island about an hour's sail away from the harbor at Labhuan Badjo. It's one of the closest good dive sites to the port. If the currents are cooperative, this area is often used for check-out dives at the beginning of your live-aboard cruise.
As with most dive sites around Komodo, you need to check the currents before entry, and drift dive. While the currents at Sabayor Kecil are generally not the worst you'll find aroud Komodo, they still need to be respected.
The fringing reef consists of a nice variety of corals, including good examples of brain corals and tables. Among the notable fish to be seen are Moorish idols, yellowmask angelfish, and double-saddle butterflyfish.
